Contemporary hand cast resin jewellery.

The form the pieces take are usually directly influenced by the nature of what is cast into the jewellery, be it flowers, a season (autumn leaves) or butterfly wings.
With the flowers I try to emphasise the texture & colour of the petals combined with a highly polished finish that blends the hues of flowers and skin.

The autumn leaves series was an attempt to capture a seasonal moment in time, to create the illusion of leaves falling.
All my jewellery encompases organic materials which when cast into the resin, captures something unique in nature by which to adorn ourselves with. The resin I use in effect works much the same as crystal or glass, giving the final pieces a jewel like refraction of light, in turn projecting light onto the skin.

The butterfly wings shimmer much like that of mother of pearl yet also have elements of tortoisehell, a substance now illegal to use but which earthly hues compliment the skin tones. Trained as a sculptor, the tactile quality of the pieces is of paramount importance, becoming objects to explore via touch and sight.
Comissions
Many of my commissions are gifts for friends, family and lovers, incorporating the symbolism of the content that the jewellery contains into various declarations of feeling.
Momentoes such as cufflinks for the groom ,best man and pendents and bracelets for the bride and bridesmaids made from flowers in the wedding bouquet. Childrens first locks of hair as keepsakes for the family. Gifts of a necklace & earrings for a girl named Heather given by a group of friends to celebrate her 21st Birthday.
Also limited edition pieces for clients such as Akciddento.
